Team News

The Florida Panthers are on the verge of securing their passage through to the Stanley Cup finals. They come into game four of the series with a healthy 3-0 advantage, meaning that they require just one more win to book their place in the Stanley Cup this season.

It has been a dramatic series between the two sides, but the slim margins have always fallen the way of the Panthers. They won each of games one and two in overtime, before they landed a narrow 1-0 win at FLA Live Arena on Monday evening.

The only goal of the game earlier this week was netted in the second period, with Sam Reinhart being the hero for the Panthers. Both Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk ended the night with assists. It was a game with very little attacking quality, with the star forwards for Florida managing just eight shots between them.

Sergei Bobrovsky was a key performer for the Panthers, as he made 32 saves against the Hurricanes. It wasn’t for the lack of trying from a Carolina perspective, but they are lacking that killer instinct in the final third to make much of a headway against the in-form Panthers in this series.

We find it challenging to overlook the Panthers to continue their winning sequence in this series on Wednesday. We expect them to complete the job, and book their spot in the Stanley Cup finals.
