Team News

The NHL playoffs continue on Monday, as the crucial second game in the series between the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers is staged. Vegas has the early advantage in the finals series, as they chase a first Stanley Cup success in franchise history. Once again, they will have home advantage for game two on Monday evening.

The Golden Knights will be hoping for a similar level of performance, as they cruised to a 5-2 win in the opening game between the sides on Saturday. Vegas secured the win in the final period, as they found the back of the net on three occasions. Heading into the third frame, the sides were level at 2-2.

However, the Golden Knights were able to flex their muscles to move clear of their rivals at the T-Mobile Arena. Shea Theodore, Jonathan Marchessault, Reilly Smith, and Mark Stone all scored goals in the win on Saturday evening.

Anthony Duclair and Eric Staal scored goals in response for the Panthers, but they were forced to lick their wounds after falling to defeat following a capitulation in the final period. It was a difficult evening for Sergei Bobrovsky, as he made just 29 saves from 33 shots faced.

Picks

This could be a crucial second game in the series for the Panthers, as a 2-0 disadvantage would give them a huge mountain to climb. However, we struggle to overlook the Golden Knights given how dominant they were in the opening clash between the sides on Saturday.
