Game Preview
Inter Miami is the main favorite to win the 2024 MLS Cup, which is no surprise. After all, the Herons have Lionel Messi playing for them. The soccer GOAT has been phenomenal since coming to Florida last season, but injuries forced him to miss a number of MLS games last year.
One of those was the Orlando City vs. Inter Miami game in Orlando, which finished in a 1-1 draw. Messi did, however, play against this opponent once. It happened in the Leagues Cup when Inter Miami was the host – The Herons won 3-1 with Messi scoring two goals.
The Herons are playing on home turf again. Chase Stadium (known as DRV PNK Stadium in the past) has become their fortress, where they usually do very well. When Messi is expected to play, all 21,550 seats are sold out and there’s a fantastic atmosphere during the game.
That was the case in Inter Miami’s first home game of the season, which saw Messi & Co. beat Real Salt Lake 2-0. Messi didn’t score in that game, but maybe now is time for him to record his first goal at Chase Stadium in 2024?
Inter Miami vs. Orlando City Prediction
In 2024, Inter Miami is way, way better than Orlando City. Plus, Saturday’s game is played on the Herons’ turf, which is why anything but a big win for Lionel Messi & Co. in the Florida Derby would be a huge surprise.
