Game Preview
Barcelona comes into this event flying high following a 7-1 massacre they inflicted upon their Catalan rivals, Valencia. It was a raw display of Barca’s power and energy and a message that the crisis was behind Hansi Flick’s unit.
Over the previous seven games, Blaugrana won in six, posting just one tie, which was on the road in Getafe, 1-1. After that event, they were better than Benfica on the road, 4-5 and Valencia 7-1, netting 12 goals in 180 minutes. Fun fact: Barcelona conceded in the previous five home events.
La Dea is also getting out of the crisis. Gasperini and his boys haven’t won in five in a row before putting up back-to-back victories. One was in the Champions League against Sturm, 5-0, and the other in the Serie A fixture in Como, 1-2.
They, too, struggle to gain defensive consistency because Atalanta conceded at least a goal in seven of the previous ten appearances across all competitions.
