Match Preview

It has been a testing 12 months or so for Mexico, but they have bounced back well after an early exit at the 2022 World Cup. The nation responded at the Gold Cup, as they stormed to success after winning each of their five matches throughout the tournament. However, that good feeling didn’t continue in the recent international break.

Mexico looked incredibly weak defensively throughout the recent international break, as they were held to consecutive draws against Australia and Uzbekistan. Over those matches, they allowed a total of five goals, with three of those coming in a 3-3 draw against Uzbekistan in the middle of September.

It promises to be a pivotal international break for Ghana, as they look to build momentum ahead of World Cup qualifiers next month and then the start of the Africa Cup of Nations in January. The African nation have been in solid form over recent months, as they have won each of their last two matches.

Their most recent success was a 3-1 home win against Liberia in mid-September. Mohammed Kudus and Jordan Ayew were both among the scorers in that recent success, and both players will be vitally important ahead of fixtures against Mexico and the USA over the next seven days.

Mexico vs Ghana Prediction

Mexico’s record in the previous encounters between the sides could be hard to overlook this weekend. They have won each of the previous three against Ghana, and we could see them landing a fourth straight success against their rivals this weekend.
