Game Preview
The toughest opponent Inter Miami’s had since the arrival of Lionel Messi is Los Angeles FC, but the Herons had no problems beating the reigning champs. Messi didn’t score but he was by far the best player on the pitch.
There was a conversation about coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino resting Messi for that game, which is what caused the odds to move against his team. However, Martino decided to keep his best player on the field for a full 90 minutes.
This time, however, Messi will not play. It’s not about his fitness, but because he’s away with the Argentina national soccer team.
Still, even without Messi on the pitch, the Herons would still stand a good chance against Sporting KC. The thing is that Sporting is one of the worst teams in the Western Conference.

Sure, they’re coming off two straight wins, but both of those happened on their turf. On the road, however, these guys have been horrible. In fact, there’s just one team in the West that’s collected fewer points than them on the road.
Inter Miami vs. Sporting Kansas City Prediction
Inter Miami needs to keep on winning to challenge for a spot in the 2023 MLS Playoffs. The Herons need to take this game seriously and grab themselves another three points. They’ve got the manpower, as well as the motivation to pull it off. Plus, they’re playing on their turf on Saturday, which is why anything but an easy home win would be a huge surprise.
