The tiebreaker game of the Western Conference Round 1 is played at Lumen Field in Seattle. That’s where the Sounders defeated FC Dallas 2-0 in the first game of the Playoff series. The hosts were brilliant in that game, making a total of 19 goal attempts and keeping the ball in their possession for 57% of the time.
It wasn’t much of a surprise given that the Sounders entered Game 1 as -132 favorites. The reason for that was that they were great at home in the regular season. Actually, these guys are famous for being very tough to beat at Lumen Field. The last time FC Dallas did it was in 2011.
FC Dallas players, however, probably feel hopeful that they can end their horrible run against the Sounders in Seattle. It’s because they did really well in the previous game, which they won 3-1. Even though the Sounders dominated the game, it’s FC Dallas’ players who were more clinical.
Seattle Sounders vs. FC Dallas Game 3 Prediction
The Seattle Sounders were minutes away from booking the ticket to the next stage of the 2023 MLS Playoffs. However, FC Dallas’ striker Jader Obrian scored his team’s third goal in game 2 in the 89th minute, thus making it 3-3 on aggregate. As a result, the Seattle vs. Dallas Game 3 needs to be played.
FC Dallas’ players need to consider themselves lucky for taking the Playoff series to another game, but we just can’t see them pulling off another upset. Especially not at Lumen Field.
