Aston Villa have made an excellent start to the 2023-24 season, and they have put themselves into an excellent position to challenge for a European spot this term. Emery’s side currently sit fifth in the league standings after winning six of their opening nine matches, and they could move up to second if they claim victory and results go their way this weekend.
Villa’s strong form continued last weekend, as they landed a comfortable 4-1 home success against West Ham. Douglas Luiz netted a brace in that success, as he scored for the sixth home match in succession. Aston Villa have also now won each of their previous eleven matches at Villa Park.
Luton Town will be the huge outsiders in the betting this weekend, as they sit just a point above the relegation places. The Hatters have landed just a single victory from their opening nine matches, but they would have taken confidence from last weekend’s draw against Nottingham Forest, as they ended a two-game losing sequence.
It was an excellent response at the City Ground by the Hatters, as they netted twice in the final ten minutes to rescue an unlikely point in the East Midlands. Despite the result, Luton have now equaled their worst-ever start to a season after collecting just five points from their opening nine matches.
Aston Villa vs Luton Prediction
This will be the first meeting between the sides since Luton landed a 3-1 League Cup success against the Villa in 2016. However, it looks incredibly challenging to bet against the hosts based on their excellent start to the season and their prolific record in front of their own fans.
