Match Preview

Things are looking up for Chelsea, as the Blues come into the weekend chasing a third straight victory across all competitions. Confidence would have been taken from Chelsea’s most recent win, as they landed a 2-0 success on the road against local rivals Fulham. A victory this weekend could lift them into the top half of the standings for the first time this season.

Chelsea will be looking to win consecutive matches in the league for the first time since March. Meanwhile, they haven’t won back-to-back matches on the road since last October. However, the Blues have a fine record at Turf Moor, as they have won seven of their eight Premier League visits.

Burnley finally opened their account for the new season in midweek, as they landed a fine 2-1 win on the road against Luton Town. However, their defensive record in this fixture would be a pressing concern, as they haven’t kept a clean sheet in 16 league fixtures against the Blues.

Their home record this term would also be a concern ahead of this weekend, as the Clarets have lost each of their opening four matches at Turf Moor. Only four teams in top-flight history have lost each of their opening five home matches at the start of a new season. Everton could also suffer the same fate this weekend.

Burnley vs Chelsea Prediction

Chelsea looked much better in the final third against Fulham on Monday, and huge confidence would have been taken from that victory. Therefore, we will be siding with the Blues landing a second straight victory in the Premier League on Saturday.
