A disappointing start to the new Premier League season reached a new low for Erik ten Hag and his Man United side last Sunday, as they were outplayed, and out battled against their local rivals in the first Manchester derby of the season. City stormed to a 3-0 win, but United were likely fortunate that they were only losers by a three-game margin.
It was a fifth defeat of the season for the Red Devils, marking the most losses that the club have suffered in their opening ten matches since the 1986-87 season. United will need to respond to that faltering display when they travel to Fulham this weekend, and ten Hag could ring the changes after a number of no-shows against City on Sunday.
Fulham are yet to reach the same performance levels as last term, and they come into this weekend sitting 14th in the league standings. However, they would have taken confidence from their recent performance in the Premier League, as they responded to going a goal down against Brighton by rescuing a point at Falmer Stadium last Sunday.
Joao Palhinha netted the equalizing goal for the Cottagers with 25 minutes remaining. However, since a win against Everton on the opening day, Fulham have now alternated between losing and drawing in their previous five matches on the road.
Fulham vs Man United Prediction
The pressure is mounting on ten Hag ahead of this fixture, and a positive performance will desperately be required. It looks set to be a testing game for the Red Devils, and we could see a draw being a profitable betting angle on Saturday.
