It has been a solid enough start to the new Premier League season for Nottingham Forest, as they currently sit 13th in the standings. A third victory of the season this weekend could see them end the round in the top half of the standings. However, Forest have been held to draws in each of their last two matches in the league.
The most recent of those was an uneventful 0-0 stalemate at Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace. Forest had the better of the chances in that match, but they weren’t clinical enough in the final third of the field. But, they did pick up a second clean sheet away from home in that match, which has equaled their tally from the 2022-23 season.
Luton Town sit just outside the relegation playoffs after eight rounds of matches, but only Sheffield United have lost more frequently over the opening months of the new season. A victory this weekend would certainly enhance their survival prospects, as they could move onto seven points alongside Brentford and Everton.
After landing a first Premier League win against Everton, the Hatters have suffered back-to-back losses in the top-flight. However, huge encouragement would have been taken despite defeat in their most recent match against Tottenham, as they more than held their own against the top-four contenders.
Nottingham Forest vs Luton Prediction
Luton’s record in this fixture is very interesting, as they have gone four without defeat against Forest. However, the hosts remain the pick, as they look to have better quality in the final third of the field.
