Vegas Odds Best Bets NFL Week 6: Locks, Dogs, and Props

By · Updated 2 years ago

Now that an ugly Washington 12-7 win over Chicago on Thursday is far (still not far enough) in our rearview it’s time to turn the focus to the Sunday games. The NFC East gets the center stage in NFL week 6 betting with the 4-1 Giants trying to prove their legitimacy as +6 point home underdogs against Baltimore while Dallas visits the Eagles (-6) in a battle for first place in the division.

Buffalo (-2.5) at Kansas City has the makings for an epic game as well, and here are the top plays for NFL week 6 betting.

NFL Lock of the week

This week we’ve doubled down with two locks

New England at Cleveland (-2.5), Sunday 1:00 PM ET

The Browns are 2-3, but those three losses have come by a total of six points. This is a team that is very close to a 5-0 record, and just -2.5 favorites at home on Sunday is disrespectful. New England’s defense looks legit after a 29-0 win over Detroit last week, but the Patriots’ points also came on five FGs and a defensive TD. Cleveland is a top 6 scoring team (26.6 ppg) and New England will not be able to keep up.
Pick: Cleveland -2.5

Carolina at L.A. Rams (-10), Sunday 4:05 PM ET

You always worry about the ‘energized game’ after Carolina fired Matt Rhule this week with Steve Wilks taking over on an interim basis. Sean McVay needs this as a get-right game for his L.A. offense, and a Panthers team that lost 37-15 to the 49ers last week can do that. Carolina is also likely down to 4th stringer P.J. Walker at QB although that might also be addition by subtraction.
Pick: L.A. Rams -10

NFL Picks Against the Spread Week 6

Baltimore at N.Y. Giants (+6)

There’s something special going on for the 4-1 Giants and although it’s early Brian Daboll looks like the real deal as head coach. New York has a little bit of a tough task coming back from London last Sunday, but both the Saints and Vikings won their game returning from the U.K. last week. The Ravens held Joe Burrow to 217 yards passing last week, but still have the worst pass defense in the league and Daboll will have something dialed up for that.
Pick: Giants

Minnesota at Miami (+3), Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Something looks a bit off with the Vikings being just a field goal favorite on the road in Miami. Minnesota has won three in a row while the Dolphins are on a 2-game losing streak including a 40-17 thumping from the Jets last week. Tua Tagovailoa remains out with a concussion and it would be a shocker to see Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) rushed back either. That leaves rookie Skylar Thompson the starter so shouldn’t this line be higher?
Pick: Dolphins

Best NFL Prop Bets

Tom Brady Over 274.5 Passing Yards

The 45-year-old is still chucking the ball, going ‘over’ his yardage total and completions in three straight games. It’s hard to see that yardage trend ending with Pittsburgh giving up 298.8 passing yards/game to QBs. The Steelers allowed a 98-yard TD pass just 2 minutes into the game last week against Buffalo as Josh Allen finished with 424 pass yards.

Zach Wilson Under 232.5 Pass + Rush Yards

The Jets have found their formula heading into NFL week 6 betting, run the ball with Breece Hall and Michael Carter while playing solid defense. That worked in a 40-`7 victory over the Dolphins last week as Zach Wilson was 14/21 for 210 yards – with 78 of those coming on one pass to Hall. Green Bay allows just 194.2 pass YPG to QBs which is the best in the NFL.
