NFL Survivor Picks Week 1
With week 1 of the NFL season set to kick off with a Super Bowl rematch of Patriots @ Seahawks, our attention turns to making the opening pick in our survivor pools.
Early bravery can play off later down the line, but go too bold and you’re eliminated before Monday Night Football even begins on week 1.

Best NFL Survivor Pick This Week: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers aren’t a team that we expect to see heavily favored on a week-to-week basis, but they look very well-placed to deal with the Falcons at home in week 1.
It’s never an encouraging sign when your franchise is struggling to name its starting QB going into week 1, and in the case of Atlanta, that’s not because they’re spoiled for choice either.
Neither Tua nor Penix looks up to the task, so using this chance to take a likely win and keep the stronger teams available for later in the season makes the most sense.
Other NFL Survivor Picks This Week
Tennessee Titans
If there were such a thing as a heroic survivor pick, this is it. The Titans are at home to the Jets so that tends to be an automatic win, plus there’s the tasty side plot of Robert Saleh looking to humiliate his former employers.
A few sportsbooks even have this down as a pick’em game, so it could go either way, but if you want to start out hot by using up a pick on a poor team, then this is it.
Las Vegas Raiders
We’re working on the basis that almost every pick is going to go against Miami this year, so this is another chance to use a pick on a team that’s likely to end with a losing record.
With Kirk Cousins set to start, the Raiders should have a competent enough offense to win this game, especially when you consider that Miami really doesn’t have much talent on either side of the ball.
Some week 1 shenanigans are always possible, but it’s hard to see this going any other way.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Sometimes the week 1 survivor pick should just be the obvious choice. Don’t overthink this one, the Browns stink, while the Jaguars should be a playoff team come January.
Cleveland’s QB situation is an absolute clown show at the moment, while they’ve also traded away their only redeeming feature, Myles Garrett, too.
Sure, it would be nice to come back to the Jags later in the year, but starting out with a win is never a bad idea.
