UFC on ABC: Rozenstruik vs. Almeida Predictions

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs. Jailton Almeida

FighterOdds
Jairzinho Rozenstruik
Jailton Almeida

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is the biggest underdog in a UFC main event since Tai Tuivasa in September 2022. Tuivasa lost to Cyril Gane, are we going to see the same happen to Rozenstruik?

Probably. The thing is that Jailton Almeida is way better than him in almost every aspect of the sport. He’s a grappling maestro whose submission-to-win ratio is 92.30%. Almeida is also very quick, so hitting him many times is almost impossible.

But Rozenstruik doesn’t have to land too many strikes to win. This guy has fists of concrete and is capable of putting literally any opponent to sleep. Still, we don’t think he’s gonna do it this time. This is Almeida’s biggest fight of his career and he’s going to take it super seriously.

Prediction:

Anthony Smith vs Johnny Walker

FighterOdds
Anthony Smith
Johnny Walker

Anthony Smith is fighting for the first time since last summer when we saw him lose to Magomed Ankalaev by TKO. Before that, he was on a roll with three wins in a row (all finishes) and there were talks about him getting a shot at the title.

That sort of discussion may return if he does a good job on Saturday against Johnny Walker. The Brazilian fighter has a similar set of skills as Smith, which is why we expect a really close fight. Still, Smith has experience on his side and that’s the No.1 reason why he’s our pick.

Prediction:

Daniel Rodriguez vs Ian Garry

FighterOdds
Daniel Rodriguez
Ian Garry

Ian Garry is 11-0 in his pro career and is favored to win again. His record in the UFC is 4-0, but he hasn’t fought such a good opponent as Daniel Rodriguez. It’s not going to be easy for The Future to win, but we think he’s going to pull it off.

Prediction:

Mackenzie Dern vs Angela Hill

FighterOdds
Mackenzie Dern
Angela Hill

Mackenzie Dern is one of the best female grapplers in the world. Before starting her MMA career, she had a very successful career in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. This is why it’s no surprise that seven of her 12 wins happened by submission.

What is kind of surprising is that she’s without a submission win in over two years. We think that might change on Saturday.

Prediction:

Alex Morono vs Tim Means

FighterOdds
Alex Morono
Tim Means

Tim Means is an elite striker who’s got 19 KO/TKO wins in his portfolio. Alex Morono might not be as good striking-wise, but he’s got many other weapons in his arsenal. He’s quicker, has great grappling skills, and even has an amazing fight IQ. All this explains why the odds are in his favor.
