Cavaliers vs Pistons Game Preview

Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers’ road struggles remain ongoing after dropping the first two games against the Pistons. They have been unable to slow down Cade Cunningham on defense while seeing underwhelming performances from James Harden and Evan Mobley. Mitchell was a major bright spot in Game 2 with 31 points, six rebounds and three assists. Meanwhile, Jarrett Allen provided 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Cade Cunningham and the Pistons are on fire with five consecutive wins as they are two victories away from making their first East Finals since 2008. Cunningham has lit up the nets as the leading scorer while getting significant support from Tobias Harris, Duncan Robinson and Daniss Jenkins. Cunningham led the attack with 25 points and 10 assists, while Harris produced 21 points and seven rebounds. On another note, Robinson contributed with 17 points as he made five 3-pointers from downtown.

Cavaliers vs Pistons Predictions

The Pistons would take a 3-0 series lead with the win, while the Cavaliers would keep the series close at 2-1, presenting what’s at stake for both teams in Game 3. Cleveland has done well at defending homecourt this postseason, something they must continue against Detroit. They also need James Harden and Evan Mobley to help out Mitchell on the scoring front while getting solid contributions from the supporting cast. Our betting pick here is for the Cavaliers to defend a 5-point spread.
