  • The Warriors pummeled the Lakers in Game 2, winning 127-100.
  • Los Angeles will attempt to get back on track at home in Game 3.
  • The Lakers are now 4-2 on the season as a whole against Golden State.

The Warriors (49-42) and the Lakers (49-42) meet for Game 3 in their Western Conference Series. Golden State tied it up at 1-1, but will now head to Los Angeles for two road games. This series is still wide open.

Picks

Golden State got a bounce back win in Game 2 on Thursday, avoiding going down 2-0 in the series. They looked like a totally different team from Game 1, shooting much better and holding the Lakers to fewer points as well. The Warriors drained 21 3-pointers in the win, shooting 50% from beyond the arc. Klay Thompson led the way, making 8 of 11 3’s, and scoring 30 points. They need much of the same in Game 3.

The Lakers were unable to maintain their success from Game 1 in Game 2, struggling on offense from start to finish. The 2nd half was especially rough on Los Angeles, as they scored just 44 points. Despite their defeat, the Lakers are still in solid shape in a 1-1 series, with two home games coming up next. They’ll need Anthony Davis to return to his killer Game 1 form to have a shot of heading back on the road up 3-1.

Picks

The first two games of this series proved just how unpredictable it will likely remain. That being said, there are a few notable advantages for Los Angeles in this game. They’ll be at home, where they hold a 27-18 record on the season, as opposed to their 22-24 road record. Anthony Davis has also been producing at an odd pattern of every other game. I like the Lakers chances of picking up the win at home in Game 3.
