Mavs lost to the Rockets two days ago, 128-110, and what was visible throughout the preseason continued. Dallas’ defense is very weak, and no matter Houston’s offensive potential, the Mavs have to be better on that end.
Cooper Flagg was superb, scoring 32 points, though he grabbed only 5 boards. Meanwhile, Kyrie was below expectations, scoring 15 points and recording just 2 assists. The Rockets outrebounded the Mavs 42-33, and that was one of the main reasons for the convincing loss.
Pacers were on the road as well, though they’ve defeated the New Orleans Pelicans, 123-120. With Tyrese Haliburton, the team from Indiana once again adopted high-paced basketball, focusing only on offense.
Haliburton scored 23 points, including 13 in the final period, and added 12 assists. Pascal Siakam added 30 buckets, while Ivica Zubac delivered a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards. The Croatian center might be something the Pacers missed in the past, with his rebounding domination and his interior influence.
