Event Preview

Action intensifies in the O’Reilly Series this weekend, with the 31st race on the calendar being staged at the iconic Talladega Superspeedway. This weekend’s race is the TPG 250, and it has been contested as part of the series since 2020. A total distance of 250.04 miles will be covered, which is made up of 94 laps.

Austin Hill will be a leading contender to reignite his championship bid, despite winning just twice in 2026. Hill was the winner of the TPG 250 last year, indicating a strong knowledge of the track. His form since the start of The Chase has been mixed, finishing in the top ten in three of the six races.

Jesse Love is certainly the man to beat, having shown consistency throughout the season. Love’s form has picked up a new gear since the start of The Chase, winning two of the last five, which includes top three finishes in each of the previous three.

Corey Day has also re-emerged as a leading championship contender during The Chase, winning two of the last three races, and finishing in the top five on five occasions. Justin Allgaier should also be respected this weekend following an excellent third-place finish last weekend. No driver has won more times on the O’Reilly Series in 2026 than the current runner-up in the Drivers’ Championship (6).

TPG 250 Picks

Plenty of the leading contenders have been extremely consistent in recent weeks, but Sam Mayer could be the one going under the radar. Mayer finished second last weekend, meaning that he has now finished in the top ten in all but one of the races in The Chase. A first victory of 2026 could be achieved this weekend.
