Race Preview
For the first time since 2020, the Bank of America 400 returns to the NASCAR schedule in 2026. This weekend’s race will be staged at Charlotte Motor Speedway, ensuring a second stop at the track following the Coca-Cola 600. The race will see the field compete across 400.5 miles, which is made up by a total of 267 laps.
Kyle Larson continues to set the pace in the race for the Drivers’ Championship following a second-place finish at last weekend’s South Point 400 in Las Vegas. Larson has now finished in the top five in each of the five Cup Series Chase races.
Chase Briscoe was a deserving winner of last weekend’s race, with his consistency throughout the campaign being rewarded. Briscoe now sits sixth in the overall standings, following up on his fourth-place finish from the Hollywood Casino 400 a few weeks ago.
Denny Hamlin’s lead at the top of the standings has been wiped away in recent rounds, and a response will be expected this weekend after finishing P16 at the South Point 400. Christopher Bell also lost ground in the championship battle after finishing P23 in Las Vegas last Sunday.
Bank of America 400 Picks
Tyler Reddick could be an interesting contender back at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. Reddick led for the most laps at the Coca-Cola 600 earlier this season, and this shorter distance should suit. Reddick has finished in the top five on his last three starts at the track, and confidence would have been gained from his P3 finish in Vegas last Sunday.
