Event Preview
The intense action on the Cup Series calendar continues this weekend, as the second race to be staged in Kansas Speedway is set for Sunday. This race has been staged since 2001, with the field covering a total distance of 400.5 miles. A total of 267 laps will be completed by the drivers, with the final stage consisting of 107 laps.
For the first time this season, Kyle Larson has moved to the top of the Drivers’ Championship. Larson’s form has reached new heights in the playoffs, winning the Enjoy Illinois 300, and taking top five finishes in the other two races. The fact that Larson has winning form at Kansas City Speedway is a major positive this weekend.
Denny Hamlin continues to drive at a consistent level in the postseason, having finished in the top ten in each of the last two rounds. Meanwhile, Joey Logano will be confident after recording a third race win of 2026 last weekend. Logano has also now finished in the top ten in the last three rounds.
Christopher Bell will also be a leading contender this weekend after finishing fourth in the Bass Pro Shop Night Race last time out, continuing his excellent form after winning the Cook Out Southern 500 at the start of September. Ty Gibbs and Carson Hocevar also finished in the top ten last weekend and shouldn’t be overlooked this Sunday.
