Auburn vs. North Carolina Preview
Johni Broome was the hero of the Tigers against Iowa State, making a go-ahead putback that would send his Auburn (5-0) to the semifinals. Tigers were down 16 points at halftime, though, with Broome and Chad Baker-Mazara, they rallied.
The latter had 18 points, 16 of which came in the second half. Broome added a double-double, scoring 21 points and ten boards, two blocks, steals, and assists.
North Carolina made its second-biggest comeback in school history by beating the Dayton Flyers, 92-90. Although they were down 21 points, they showed fantastic team spirit and resilience, which resulted in this success.
RJ Davis and Seth Trimble had 57 points each, Davis 30 with seven boards and five assists, and Trimble 27 with 10 rebounds, 10-for-14 from the field. Tar Heels shoot 51.9% from the field, and they were especially deadly in the second half.
Auburn vs. North Carolina 2024 Maui Invitational Prediction
Auburn is ranked fourth, though we can’t say they had harder rivals than UNC, which only lost to the Kansas Jayhawks this year. Also, the Tar Heels have mighty attackers, and even though Auburn’s defense is pretty hard, we believe that now, it can’t compete with the high-octane offense of Hubert Davis’ boys.
