Louisville was unable to win the “battle of Kentucky” on Saturday, coming up short against the Wildcats, 38-31. Despite the loss, the Cardinals still posted a 10-win season that went far beyond their expectations when it began. With two losses, their CFP hopes are basically gone, but Louisville still has a key chance to win the ACC conference and make a New Year’s Six bowl game. They need their defense to bounce back.

Florida State was able to defeat Florida last week, despite the absence of star QB Jordan Travis. They leaned on their stellar defense, which has stifled opponents all season long. The Seminoles will face an even tougher test against Louisville. After averaging 2.9 yards per carry and 5.2 yards per completion against the Gators, Florida State needs to find something new on offense to have a chance in this game.

Prediction

This game holds a much different projection following the injury to Florida State QB Jordan Travis. Had Travis been available, the Seminoles may have entered this game as 10+ point favorites to win it. Instead, they remain narrowly the favorites, with many questions circling their offense. It’ll be up to their defense to support QB Tate Rodemaker, but I ultimately see a healthier Louisville team coming away with the victory.
