Preview

TCU got a much-needed bounce back win last week. Not only did they snap their 2-game losing streak, but they did so in triumphant fashion. Their 44-11 trouncing of 4-1 BYU was a great sign for the Horned Frogs, especially considering the circumstances. With QB Chandler Morris banged up, freshman Josh Hoover stepped in, and played at a very high level. He went 37 of 58 for 439 yards and 4 TDs in the win.

Kansas State got back into the win column last week, after beating Texas Tech. It was their first road win of the year, and pushed the Wildcats closer to bowl eligibility. As the defending Big-12 champions, Kansas State will be aiming to win their next two home games over TCU and Houston before heading to Arlington to face the Longhorns. Their defense has regressed since last season, but the offense has also improved.

Prediction

This should be another great matchup between two solid Big-12 teams. Both TCU and Kansas State have taken major steps back this year after incredible seasons last year, but remain in contention to win the conference. They can’t afford many more losses, increasing the stakes for this game. I’m tempted to take the Wildcats at home here, but I really liked what I saw from new QB Josh Hoover. I’ll take TCU in this one.
