The Edmonton Oilers responded to defeat in the opening game of the series in game two, as they tied this showdown against the Kings earlier in the week. That was a fine response from the Oilers, who remain the clear favorites in the betting to progress from this opening round clash.
Edmonton started the stronger of the two teams, and netted twice in the opening period. However, they were pegged back after two goals from the Kings in the second. But, the Oilers were keen to avoid another period of overtime, and they recorded a victory with two efforts in the final period.
Four different players found the net for the Oilers in that success, with Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane, Kim Kostin, and Derek Ryan all scoring goals. Draisaitl also ended the night with two assists.
The Kings ultimately came up short in game two of the series, but they will likely be confident back in from of their home fans in Los Angeles. Their goals in the game two loss were scored by Phillip Danault and Gabriel Vilardi. Kings stopped Joonas Korpisalo made 33 saves from 36 shots to average .917.
The Oilers have won on three of their previous five visits to Los Angeles, and that puts them in a strong position for game three. We believe they turned a corner with their success in game two, and we could see them landing victories in all remaining games in this series.
