Business picks up in the Champions League when the European competition returns in early April. Arsenal have emerged as leading contenders in the competition, and Mikel Arteta’s side could end the 2023-24 with a European and domestic league double. However, this first leg against Bayern Munich will be crucial to their chances of progression.
The Gunners will need to be much better than they were in the previous round of the competition, as they narrowly avoided a shock exit at the hands of FC Porto. Therefore, their only realistic chance of silverware this term comes in the Champions League. However, Bayern showed their character in the return fixture with the Italian giants, snapping a three-game losing run by claiming a 3-0 success. Harry Kane was ultimately the difference-maker in that fixture, with the England captain netting twice.
