Champions League Quarter-Final: Benfica vs Inter Milan Prediction, Preview, and Odds (Apr 11)
- Benfica are coming off their first home loss of the 2022-23 season.
- Inter Milan are in horrible form, mainly due to the poor performance of their offense.
This afternoon, Benfica take on Inter Milan in a quarter-final duel of the UEFA Champions League. The game is taking place at Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, where Benfica usually play great. We say “usually” because, in their most recent home game, they lost to their arch-rivals Porto.
What’s giving them confidence that they’re gonna do well today is that Inter Milan are completely out of form with zero wins in more than a month. Their winless streak is even longer when it comes to away games. The last time I Nerazzurri won on the road was in January.

Game Preview
Benfica are great on their turf with only one loss at Estadio da Luz this entire season. What’s got to worry them is that the defeat in question happened last Friday – they lost 2-1 to Porto in the Portuguese Primeira.

Luckily for them, they’re now taking on Inter Milan, whose form has been abysmal lately. The Italians are without a win since March 5 when they defeated Lecce, a team hovering above the relegation zone in the Italian Serie A.
Inter’s biggest problem in 2023 has been their offense. They just can’t seem to get on target, scoring just two goals in their last five games. In comparison, Benfica scored 15 in their last five.
Prediction
Benfica is a team that likes keeping the ball in its possession, meaning that Inter Milan won’t get too many chances to score today. Knowing that the offense has been Achille’s heel of this team, it’s safe to say that they won’t score too many goals today. In fact, we think it’s very likely that Benfica will keep a clean sheet.
