Match Preview
France come into the EUROs as one of the strongest teams on paper, as they chase a third success in the competition. The national side once again showed their ability at major tournaments at the World Cup after finishing as the runners-up behind Argentina. But, they will be looking for a better outing at the EUROs this summer after falling in the round of 16 in 2020.
France qualified for the tournament without breaking a sweat after winning seven of their eight matches, and drawing just once. Across the qualifying campaign, the French scored an impressive 29 goals, and conceded just three times. In their final warm-up match, they were held to a 0-0 draw by Canada.

Austria have certainly improved under Ralf Rangnick, and they could be considered as a dark horse challenge to oppose the Netherlands in the race for the second qualifying spot in Germany this summer. Austria reached the round of 16 at the previous edition of the EUROs, which was their best ever showing at the tournament.
However, they were an eye-catching nation in qualifying last year after winning six of their eight matches, and dropping to just one defeat. Austria scored an impressive 17 goals, while they allowed just seven, which was their best defensive record since 2016.
