Match Preview
The first of two semi-finals at the EUROs this week will get underway in Munich on Tuesday. France have stuttered through the competition to this point, most recently beating Portugal on penalties in the quarterfinals. Spain have been among the standout teams in the competition this year, and their form continued with a narrow success over host nation Germany in the previous round.
This will be the sixth time that Spain and France have collided in a major tournament, with Spain winning the previous clash between the nations at EURO 2012. However, France have still won three of the previous five matches, which includes victories at the EUROs in 1984 and 2000.

Spain come into this showdown after winning all five of their matches at the EUROs this summer. However, no side has ever won six matches at the competition in succession. Meanwhile, Spain boasts the best win rate of any European nation under Luis de la Fuente, having won 79% of their matches under the coach.
France will be aiming to reach a fourth EURO final this weekend. However, it would only be their second final appearance to be played outside of their home nation. Spain are looking to reach a sixth final, and they have progressed from four of their previous five semi-final clashes in the tournament. The only exception came when they lost to Italy in the semi-finals of EURO 2020.
