Spain enjoyed a memorable summer on the soccer field, winning the EURO 2024 title, before claiming the gold medal at the Summer Olympics in France. Therefore, there were high hopes ahead of their return to action in the Nations League on Thursday.

However, their return to action following that dramatic run was a huge disappointment, as they crashed to a 2-0 loss in Copenhagen against Denmark.
Their discipline in that match was a huge concern, as they saw two players sent off in the second half. Therefore, both Nico Elvedi and Granit Xhaka will be unavailable for selection this weekend.
