Arsenal’s pursuit of a first Premier League title in over 20 years got off to a dream start at the Emirates last weekend, as they coasted to a 2-0 home success against Wolves. However, they should find life more challenging this Saturday, as they come up against the surprise package from last season. Aston Villa started their season with an impressive 2-1 win at big-spending West Ham United.
Villa will hold no fears coming into this showdown after completing a rare league double over the Gunners last season. The West Midlands club accounted for 40% of the defeats suffered by Arsenal in 2023-24, and they have landed three straight league wins against the Gunners on two previous occasions.
