Match Preview
A miserable period for Man City came to an end in their final match of 2024, as Savinho and Erling Haaland scored the goals in a 2-0 away win at Leicester.
The victory was just their second in their last ten Premier League outings. Over that period, City had suffered six defeats.
However, the win means that City have ended calendar years with victories in six of the last seven. It was also a memorable afternoon for Guardiola, as he became the first manager since David Moyes in 2013 to reach 500 games with a club in the dugout.

Meanwhile, there remains pressure on Julen Lopetegui’s shoulders at the start of the new calendar year. The Hammers suffered a humbling 5-0 loss at home to Liverpool on Sunday.
Defensively, they will need to improve in 2025, as no Premier League side allowed more goals in 2024 than the Hammers. West Ham have still won two of their last five, and their only defeat over that period was suffered against the Reds.
However, the head-to-head record is damning for the Hammers this weekend. Man City have won the last five meetings between the sides, and have scored at least three in each of the two meetings between the teams at the Etihad. West Ham’s last away win against City was recorded in September 2015.
Man City vs. West Ham Picks
City showed flashes of their best form against Leicester on Sunday, but there are still questions that the champions must answer. However, this looks like a perfect opportunity to record a second successive win against a Hammers side that has stuttered under Lopetegui.
