Match Preview
Luton’s rise back to the top-flight of the English game is one of the best stories of the modern era. The club were relegated to the National League following financial issues, but their win over Coventry in last season’s Championship playoff final mean that they can look forward to a first season back in the top tier since 1991-92.
Many are given the club very little chance of staying in the division, but Rob Edwards will be keen to ensure that Luton are at least competitive. Their home form will be key to their chances of survival this term, and we expect Kenilworth Road to be a difficult location for all big teams this term.

Brighton enjoyed an excellent campaign under Roberto De Zerbi last term, as they finished sixth to secure a first European finish in the club’s history. However, building on that finish will now be the challenge for the Italian coach, who will go into this season without Alexis Mac Alister, and question marks still hanging over the future of Moises Caicedo.
Brighton didn’t enjoy the best results against newly promoted opposition last term, as they lost three of their six matches. However, they have won their opening game of the season in each of the previous two campaigns, and have landed victories in each of their last two against Luton in the league, with those wins coming in League One in 2007-08.
Brighton vs Luton Prediction
Luton will be a fine addition to the Premier League this term, but their chances of survival will likely hinge on their home record. Therefore, we will be siding with Brighton to kick off the campaign with maximum points in front of their home fans.
