Erling Haaland broke the Premier League’s goalscoring record with his 35th strike of the season against West Ham. The Norwegian’s 51st goal in all competitions was sandwiched between Nathan Ake’s opener and Phil Foden’s 85th-minute strike – the 1000th goal of the Pep Guardiola era at Man City. Pep Guardiola chose to rest a number of players for the match against West Ham, and it would be no surprise to see a few notable players miss out again for the visit of Leeds.

Leeds parted ways with Javi Gracia following Sunday’s dismal defeat against Bournemouth. Sam Allardyce has been tasked with saving the Yorkshire team from relegation, a mission he is well used to in his long career. ‘Big Sam’ takes over with Leeds in 17th place in the Premier League, outside of the drop zone by virtue of having a better goal difference than Nottingham Forest.
Predictions
In his long history, Sam Allardyce will have had easier first games in charge of teams. A visit to the Etihad probably won’t be the deciding factor in Leeds’ fate, but when every point matters it is far from ideal. Man City should run out comfortable winners here.
