Man City has the destination of the Premier League title in their own hands this season, as victories in all remaining matches would seal a third straight success. Pep Guardiola’s side couldn’t come into this fixture in much better form, as they have won ten of their last eleven in the top-flight. But, the hope for West Ham would come from the fact that City have conceded in nine of those previous matches.
However, City is unbeaten in their previous 14 league matches against the Hammers, winning on eleven occasions. City has also won 14 of the previous 16 matches between the sides in the Premier League, and have scored in each of West Ham’s visits over that period.
West Ham’s season has turned a corner in recent weeks, and they now look set to confirm their status in the Premier League for another season. The Hammers now sit four points above the drop zone after wins in two of their previous five matches. However, they do come into this testing fixture after losing their last two.
West Ham has taken just four points from their previous 16 visits to Manchester City. Their last clean sheet in this fixture was recorded way back in April 2003, with the Hammers picking up a 1-0 win at Maine Road. The Hammers will certainly need to defend better than they did in their previous league outing, where they were beaten 4-3 on the road by Crystal Palace.
Man City vs West Ham Predictions
This looks like a tall order for West Ham on Wednesday. City boasts an excellent overall record against the Hammers, and they come into this showdown without a defeat in their last eleven. We expect City to land maximum points in a comfortable fashion.
