Game 2 Preview
Anthony Edwards came off the bench to score 18 points in 25 minutes of play, and we can say that he did this job perfectly. Though Julius Rangle has to be credited, as he spent 41 minutes on the floor for 21 buckets and 10 boards.
The Wolves’ big players guarded Wembanyama perfectly, as Rudy Gobert grabbed 10 boards and had 4 steals. We can say that the French veteran plays very well in the playoffs.
As for Wemby, he had a triple-double, with 12 blocks, but shot 5-for-17 from the field. He also missed all of his 8 three-point attempts. When we add that De’Aaron Fox also had a terrible night with 10 points, it’s pretty obvious why this unit lost Game 1.
Fox had 6 turnovers as well, and there weren’t any guards to step in and pull the Spurs from the chaotic performance. Stephon Castle was halfway there with 17 points, yet he, too, didn’t show up when needed.
