Event Preview

The Indianapolis 500 is one of the most exciting motorsport events on the U.S. calendar. As is tradition, it will be staged over Memorial Day weekend, and it is featured as part of the IndyCar Series. The race was first staged in 1911, and nowadays, drivers compete over a total distance of 500 miles. The race distance is made up of 200 laps in total.

The most successful drivers in the history of the race are A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, Rick Mears, and Helio Castroneves, who have all won on four occasions. Penske is the most successful team, with 18 victories.

Marcus Ericsson claimed victory in the race last year, and the Swede could have an excellent chance of victory once again this weekend. He has finished in the top ten in all five races this season, with his only victory coming in the opening race of the season.

Alex Palou is a deserving favorite for the race, as the Spanish star was excellent in the previous race on the calendar to claim a first victory of the season. However, he will start on Pole this weekend, meaning that it could be worth taking on Palou, given that he is the short-priced favorite.

Indianapolis 500 Prediction

We like two drivers this weekend. Pato O’Ward has been incredibly consistent over the early weeks of the season, finishing second in three of the opening five races. Meanwhile, we also like the chances of former F1 star Romain Grosjean, who finished second in consecutive races before last weekend.
