NFL: Bills Bring a Dangerous Crew to Vegas

No one was disputing that the Buffalo Bills had enough defense to contend in the AFC East. But could they move the ball enough on the offensive end? That was a good question, considering that their quarterback, Josh Allen, was somewhat limited.

But now BetOnline patrons can see that he is developing rapidly, and he now has the Bills emerging as a power-packed offensive unit.

Buffalo Facing off with Las Vegas Raiders Today

Buffalo will line up on Sunday to oppose the Las Vegas Raiders in a game that begins at 4:25 PM ET at the brand-new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The Silver and Black christened their new ballpark with a victory over the New Orleans Saints but did not follow that up well, losing on the road to New England last week.

Allen has looked a lot more sure of himself this season, and obviously, this is encouraging for the guy whose mistakes dealt the Bills out of the playoffs last year. He has completed 71% of his passes with 10 touchdowns and only one interception, and he gets the ball downfield as well. He’s not running the ball as much, but opponents know that he absolutely could.

And Allen has acquired an invaluable weapon in Stefon Diggs, who has 288 receiving yards already. This, along with Devin Singletary establishing himself very firmly as the top running back, gives the Bills something that is rather complete.

What Do the Vegas Odds Say for the Upcoming Match-up?

In the Vegas odds that have been posted on this game, Buffalo is the favorite out there on the Strip:

  • Buffalo Bills -3 (-120)
  • Las Vegas Raiders +3 (+100)
  • Over 53 points -110
  • Under 53 points -110

Buffalo has to focus for 60 minutes. Last week they were ready to put away the Los Angeles Rams, leading 28-3, and they let that lead evaporate, before coming back in the final minutes to pull out the victory.

Should the Bills Be Worried?

What the Bills can expect from the Raiders is a team that will jab, jab, jab its way down the field. David Carr is a guy who likes to pride himself on avoiding interceptions (none thus far) and sacks and complete passes for a high percentage (74%) in Jon Gruden’s West Coast-style offense.

Among the weapons, running back Josh Jacobs is fundamentally the most important because wherever Gruden has gone, it has always been a top priority to show a run game first, to get the pressure off the quarterback.

Hunter Renfrow has been an interesting find as sort of a possession receiver, but the guy Carr may find himself looking for more often than not is Darren Waller, the tight end who has already caught 20 passes. That’s another thing Gruden insists on doing – using the tight end – and prior to Waller, Jared Cook has gone to the Pro Bowl at the position wearing the Silver and Black.

The best unit on the field is the Buffalo defense, although the offense is now giving them a run for their money. Allen has now thrown for at least 300 yards in every game this season. Still, BetOnline patrons shouldn’t sell the Raiders short or underestimate their ability to turn this into a donnybrook. We can see this one going OVER the total, and that is 53 points in the Vegas odds.
