  • The 76ers failed to close it out in Game 6, losing 95-86.
  • Boston stayed alive, and can now win the series at home.
  • The Celtics are now 6-4 on the season as a whole against Philadelphia.

The 76ers (61-31) and the Celtics (64-30) meet for Game 7 of their Eastern Conference Series. With the entire season on the line for both teams, this game should be stellar. Boston has the advantage at home.

Preview

Philadelphia was unable to close the series out at home in Game 6, after struggling quite a bit on offense. James Harden had an especially futile day, going 4 for 16 from the field and 0 for 6 from 3-pt range. After failing to take advantage of a mediocre shooting performance by Jayson Tatum, the 76ers will now need to find a way to win on the road in Game 7. They’ll need both Harden and Joel Embiid to be at their best.

The Celtics survived on the road in Game 6, getting an enormous win. Their defense shined in the victory, while the offense raised several concerns. Jayson Tatum’s 1st-quarter struggles continued, but he heated up towards the very end of the game. Boston will need Tatum to continue that momentum into a hot start in Game 7, with their season on the line. They’ve been a very capable home team so far in this postseason.

Picks

Game 7’s are notoriously unpredictable, with each team facing elimination. The winner will advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, while the loser will head home. In a series that has been as even as this one, I’d definitely put some stock into the home-court advantage. Not only are the Celtics at home, but they seem to have found their rhythm over the last few games in the series. I see Boston winning a close one here.
