  • The Knicks took a 2-0 lead on Wednesday, but lost OG Anunoby to an injury.
  • Indiana needs to bounce back in Game 3 to avoid falling behind the Knicks 3-0.
  • New York now holds a 3-2 record against the Pacers on the season as a whole.

The NBA Playoffs continue to heat up in the second round. This series features a classic rivalry between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks took a 2-0 lead after winning both games at home, but will head to Indiana shorthanded.

How to Watch

  • ESPN

The Knicks trailed the Pacers 73-63 at halftime on Wednesday after Jalen Brunson missed the 2nd quarter with a sore foot. He returned in the 2nd half, leading New York to a 36-18 advantage in the 3rd. After closing out the win, the Knicks took a 2-0 lead in this series. Josh Hart has been huge, averaging over 48 minutes per game in the last five games. Unfortunately, New York continues to deal with injuries, losing OG Anunoby to a hamstring injury, while Brunson remaining questionable for Game 3.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are desperate to win Game 3 back in Indiana to avoid falling behind 3-0 in this series. Tyrese Haliburton had a major bounce-back performance in Game 2. He scored 34 points, while adding 9 assists, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. After scoring just 6 points in Game 1, Haliburton managed to return to form. Indiana needs him to continue playing well to have a chance at coming back against even a banged-up Knicks team.

With OG Anunoby out and Brunson at best playing through injury, the Knicks are set up for a tough Game 3 in Indiana. It’s possible that one of their other contributors such as Josh Hart, Donte DiVincenzo, or Miles McBride could step up big, but it’s going to be very difficult for a depleted Knicks team to keep up. The Pacers can utilize their depth and offensive talent to take advantage of New York’s banged-up and exhausted rotation. Indiana is likely to bounce back in Game 3 and claim the victory.
