Game Preview

Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs find themselves in a tough situation, losing both of their home games to start the championship series. While their arrival to the NBA Finals was quicker than expected, their overall inexperience in the biggest situations is showing on basketball’s greatest stage. Wembanyama has filled up the stat sheet but has yet to make the impact he delivered in previous series this year. He had 29 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in Game 2 but made critical errors that proved to be costly in the loss. Meanwhile, De’Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper look to produce valuable displays in the backcourt alongside Stephon Castle.

Jalen Brunson and the Knicks are in serious title contention after winning 13 straight games since the first round. They have persevered on the road to stun the Spurs in Games 1 and 2, hoping to carry that momentum over to their homecourt. Brunson has yet to be accurate with his shot selection, but continues to be productive with 20 points, six assists, five rebounds, and five steals in Game 2. Karl-Anthony Towns looks to keep performing at a high level on both sides of the ball, dropping 21 points, 13 rebounds and four assists in the last contest.

Spurs vs Knicks Predictions

This NBA Finals series will see who gets to reach the mountaintop as the rightful champion, currently seeing New York with the upper hand. The Knicks are on fire with their historic win streak, being two wins away from the championship. Victor Wembanyama must do everything possible to get his team back in the series, especially when it comes to being more assertive with his shot selection. However, Jalen Brunson and his Knicks squad will remain focused on defending homecourt as their fans are begging for their first title since 1973. Our betting pick here is for the Knicks to defend a 2-point spread.
