The Denver Nuggets are one win away from winning the first NBA Championship in the history of the franchise. Game 5 of the 2023 NBA Finals is played on their turf – Ball Arena in Denver – which is where they’ve lost just one game in the postseason so far (to the Miami Heat in Game 2).
Oddsmakers see them as huge favorites to win on Monday evening. If they’re going to bring their playoff tale to a happy ending, it would be more than appropriate if Denver’s hero Nikola Jokic put on another vintage performance. Will we see “Joker” do what he does best – record another triple-double?

- Where: Ball Arena, Denver, Colorado

In the previous game of the 2023 NBA Finals, Nikola Jokic did not record a triple-double. Instead, he dropped a double-double, only missing a double-figure number of assists.
However, a game before, we saw him record his 10th triple-double in the 2023 playoffs. It was also his 39th overall in the 2022-23 campaign. Can he make it 40on June 12?
We think he might, mainly because the series is coming back to Denver. At home, all of the Nuggets are always brilliant, including Jokic. The last time he played at Ball Arena, the Serbian center scored 41 points. He didn’t get a triple-double that day, though. Still, it’s because his teammates didn’t make use of his assists.
Before that game, Jokic was on a run of four straight triple-double performances at home. Obviously, he’s got it in him to do the same again. And it would really be a suitable ending to his 2022-223 campaign if he did it in front of his crowd in Denver, helping the Nuggets win their first NBA title in history.
