Preview

NC State went 2-1 in their stretch of three straight ranked matchups. They lost the last of them against Virginia Tech, but quickly bounced back in their 83-47 thumping of Pittsburgh. The Wolfpack are thrown right back into the mix of ranked games, with this matchup at #16 Notre Dame up next. They’ll be relying on two-way player Aziaha James to bounce back from a rough game against Pittsburgh and lead the way.

Notre Dame has now won 8 of their last 10 games. They picked up a massive road win over UConn in that stretch, but also came up short against Syracuse and Louisville. The Fighting Irish have another test here against the highest ranked team they’ve seen since the opener against South Carolina. Freshman phenom Hannah Hidalgo continues to impress, and will be the key to Notre Dame’s chances of winning this game.

Prediction

This should be another competitive matchup in a very strong ACC conference. Notre Dame has the home-court advantage, but will still face a very tough task against an NC State team with a 21-3 record on the season. I see this game coming down to the wire, with Hidalgo and Notre Dame getting the home victory.

NCAAW Picks:

  • Notre Dame 75, NC State 71 ()
