Preview

Texas improved to 16-1 following their win over TCU on Wednesday. That followed up an impressive 70-49 road win over #24 West Virginia. Coupled with their victory over UConn, the Longhorns have already picked up a handful of signature wins. That being said, they only have three games against ranked teams remaining. They’ll need leading-scorer Taylor Jones to be at her best to take advantage of this matchup.

Kansas State’s winning streak reached double digits against Oklahoma, as they continue to storm past the competition. The Wildcats may be ranked too low at #12, after going 1-1 against #3 Iowa, and 15-0 in all other matchups. They’ll have a chance to prove themselves against Texas in their first ranked matchup in a month and a half. C Ayoka Lee will need to establish dominance in the paint to win this game over Texas.

Prediction

This is an excellent matchup between two of the top three teams in the Big-12 conference. Each is aiming to establish their position in the top-10 with another signature win. Both of these teams are ranked too low in my opinion, and could wind up as high as a 1 or 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. In this matchup, both offenses will be tested by tough opposing defenses. I like Kansas State’s chances to get the win at home.

  • Kansas State 70, Texas 65 ()
