Cleveland improved to 4-2 with their win over the Colts on Sunday. Despite QBs Deshaun Watson and PJ Walker combining to go 16 of 37 for 184 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs, the Browns managed to score 39 points. The defense scored once, while RBs Jerome Ford and Kareem Hunt combined for 3 rushing TDs of their own. If Cleveland can get above average play at the QB position, they could become a legit contender.
The Seahawks are tied in 1st place in the NFC West with the 49ers at 5-2. They’ve exceeded expectations yet again this season. QB Geno Smith continues to excel, posting a 113 passer rating against the Cardinals. Seattle’s success has been built on great draft picks. Rookie WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo combined for 124 yards and 2 TDs, while 2nd-year RB Kenneth Walker III rushed for 105 yards in the win.
Prediction
Both of these teams are in excellent position, currently sitting with a combined record of 9-4. The Browns are hoping to capitalize on some expensive talent they brought in before the window closes, while Seattle has essentially skipped the being bad part of their rebuild. This game will come down to whether or not Cleveland’s defense can bounce back after last week. Ultimately, I like the Seahawks to win it at home.
