Game Preview
Chicago has been in the news for all the wrong reasons this week. Allegations surfaced around defensive coordinator Allan Williams, including an FBI raid of his property. The 53-year-old subsequently resigned. Justin Fields also made the headlines when he openly criticized the team’s offensive coaching and play design, so all eyes will be on him this week to put in an improved performance. The Bears’ offensive line is pretty beaten up at the moment, with Jenkins, Jones, and Kramer all on the IR so Fields may feel the pressure of the KC pass rush, especially as the Buccaneers sacked him 6 times in week 2.
The Chiefs had Travis Kelce back for their week 2 matchup and the offense looked back to its old self as a result. The defense was outstanding, limiting Jacksonville to taking shots to the back of the end-zone, and ensuring there was no room for the receivers to work in. There are a few injury concerns on offense this week, with Isiah Pacheco limited in practice and Richie James and Kadarius Toney missing altogether.
Prediction
The Bears have looked woeful since midway through last season and nothing suggests that is going to change anytime soon. The Chiefs should be too good for them on both sides of the football here and I expect them to win with relative ease.
