Game Preview
C.J Stroud looked every bit an NFL quarterback despite the Texans picking up their second loss of the season last weekend. The rookie threw 30/47 for 384 yards and two touchdowns, finding Nico Collins and Tank Dell in the end zone. If the Texans are to turn some improved performances into wins they will have to do a better job of running the ball however. Dameon Pierce has found very little help from his offensive line and as such has only racked up 69 yards from 26 attempts this season.
It was a game of fine margins for the Jaguars as they were defeated 17-9 by the Chiefs on Sunday. QB Trevor Lawrence found men open at the back of the end zone four times, only to see them fail to get both feet down on all four occasions. As always, if you give the Chiefs any wiggle room they will punish you and that is what happened. The visit of the Texans will be a much more comfortable experience for Jacksonville but they will have to convert their chances because this Houston team are capable of moving the chains well.
Prediction
Houston are 6 point underdogs in this matchup but with the bounce back I expect to see from Jacksonville here the margins should be greater than that. Trevor Lawrence will have a few breakout games this season, and this could be one of them.
