Game Preview
It was far from a vintage Chiefs performance in week 4 as they struggled to overcome the hapless Jets. Patrick Mahomes looked out of sorts despite a strong start to the game, and the two-time MVP threw 2 first half interceptions whilst completing just 18 of 30 attempts. Rookie receiver Rashee Rice is steadily emerging as Mahomes’ top target and should see his snap count begin to increase from hereon out. RB Isiah Pacheco was electrifying against New York, posting 115 yards and a touchdown on his 20 carries.
The Vikings finally picked up their first win of the season, although it came in Kirk Cousins quietest game so far. The veteran shot-caller posted 139 yards on 12 completions with two touchdowns, both going to star receiver Justin Jefferson. RB Alexander Mattison rushed for 95 yards on 17 carries and his new team mate Cam Akers added 40 yards on his 5 carries. The Minnesota defense will have a tougher time against Kansas City here in week 5 but they looked better than they have all season so far.
Prediction
Kansas City rarely plays two bad games in a row so we can expect vintage Mahomes here in week 5. The Vikings defense will be tested and this could be the game of the week. This one should go the way of the Chiefs, but the Vikings will play their part.
