Game Preview
The bye week has given Seattle wide receiver D.K. Metcalf more time to recover from the rib injury he has been carrying since week 2. Even so the 6’4″ target man has not practiced this week which is a worry, although he has stated that playing through the injury has not been too difficult on game days. Rookie wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba hasn’t made the impact many expected him to so far, but there is every chance of a breakout game coming soon.
The Bengals are hopeful that wide receiver Tee Higgins is able to suit up for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. The 24-year-old has put in two limited practice sessions this week so far and although he may carry the questionable tag on Friday’s injury report he is trending toward playing. Quarterback Joe Burrow is thought to be close to full health heading into week 6, after shaking off a calf injury that has been nagging him all season. If his performance in last week’s 34-20 victory over the Cardinals is anything to go by then the 26-year-old could be back to his best for this matchup.
Prediction
Cincinnati head into this matchup as slight favorites and I see them picking up the win provided Joe Burrow is fully healthy. Seattle has performed well so far this season but the Bengals are by far the best team they have faced and may be a challenge too difficult for Geno Smith and co.
