  • Los Angeles came up a bit short against the 49ers, losing 30-23.
  • The Bengals lost 27-24 to Baltimore, falling to 0-2 on the season.
  • These two teams last met in Super Bowl LVI, a game the Rams won 23-20.

The NFL season is in full swing! Let’s preview the upcoming Rams vs Bengals Super Bowl rematch. In this year’s matchup Cincinnati may be without Joe Burrow, while the Rams have been rebuilding and improving.

Preview

The Rams were unable to repeat their Week 1 success in Week 2, losing to the 49ers. That being said, their 1-1 start has had many encouraging signs. Despite the absence of Cooper Kupp, their offense has been playing really well. This is mainly due to rookie WR Puka Nacua who has had a historic start to his career with 25 catches for 266 yards in two games. RB Kyren Williams has also been sensational for Los Angeles.

Cincinnati played a lot better in Week 2 than Week 1, but still came away with a loss and an 0-2 record. After no receptions in Week 1, WR Tee Higgins broke out for 8 catches, 89 yards, and 2 TDs against the Ravens. Unfortunately, Joe Burrow aggravated a lingering calf injury which could sideline him this week. Without Burrow, the Bengals are in danger of falling into a hole they may not be able to climb out of.

Prediction

This game is a rematch of the Super Bowl in 2022, a game the Rams won 23-20. Both teams have gone through some changes since then, but Los Angeles has a very different overall roster. If Joe Burrow was at 100%, I’d probably lean towards taking the Bengals at home here. Unfortunately, there’s a good chance that Burrow will be unavailable here. If he doesn’t play, I’d much rather take the Rams to win this game.
