Preview
New Orleans lost to the Jaguars on Thursday, falling to 3-4 on the year. It was a relatively solid result, but the defense took a big step back, allowing more than 30 points for the first time this season. Alvin Kamara continues to make a huge impact on the offense. He racked up another 153 yards last week, now at 438 total yards in 4 games. As long as Kamara and WR Michael Thomas are available, the offense will compete.
The Colts came up short against the Browns last week, losing 39-38. The offense looked stellar. Jonathan Taylor totaled 120 yards and a TD, while QB Gardner Minshew post a 119 passer rating. Minshew found a connection with rookie WR Josh Downs, who reeled in 5 catches for 125 yards and a TD. Meanwhile, the defense flailed at key times, giving up 39 points in a game that the Browns QBs posted a 36 passer rating.
Prediction
Both of these teams are looking to build on offensive momentum this week, as well as bounce back on defense after poor showings on that side of the ball. New Orleans is 1-2 against the AFC South so far this season, and may have trouble once again in this matchup. These two teams actually project very evenly, but the Colts should have a slight advantage at home. I see Minshew Magic returning to the mix this week.
